I’ve had a secret Pinterest board for our first fixer upper about two years now. And the second we bought this house, Nic and I both had a very clear idea of what we wanted it to look like. I’m not sure if I’ve slowly brainwashed him into thinking subway tile with dark grout is magic or if he is just trusting my wannabe designer “vision, ” but I’m good with either scenario as long as it gets me my subway tile. We’ve pretty much been on the same page about wall/floor/color options so far. I’ve only lost a few battles over appliances (apparently, my dream of having a microwave drawer is not going to become a reality this time around… I have big dreams about small kitchen appliances, y’all). But, we both love grays and bright, light, open spaces, and he’s pretty good about reeling me in when I start rambling about Carrera marble all the way to the ceiling.

Here’s a little design inspiration for our renovation:
